Let’s Bring Back
Peppered with recipes, celebrity insights, lists you can memorize and recite at swanky bohemian parties, and marginalia drafted by yours truly, this anecdotal encyclopedia of bygone customs and elegant curiosities is a delight to read—even if you plan on remaining true to your own customs and curiosities, like wearing flip-flops to work. Which is gross! Don’t do it.
20 illustrated plates were commissioned for this title and perfectly rendered by Grady McFerrin, who should probably illustrate everything in the entire world—grocery lists, emails to friends, applications for zero-interest credit cards—his style is somehow moody, folksy, delicate, rustic, warm, remote, familiar, and new, all at once.
